10 things every student should know when coming to Brock

It’s back to school time and here’s 10 quintessential things every Brock University student needs to know.

1 – Keep Track of Important Dates

The Fall Term begins on Wednesday, Sept. 7. Residence Move In Day is Sunday, Sept. 4 and Orientation happens on Tuesday, Sept. 6. Here are some other important dates to remember:

2 – Download the Brock Mobile App

Brock’s app will help you with everything from keeping track of upcoming events to searching for text books and following social media. It’s a must-have for every Badger.

3 – Get a Brock Card

Your Brock Card – student ID – is an all-access pass to everything Brock University. Use it to ride the bus and workout at The Zone. You can also load it with cash and use it to buy food on campus. The Brock Card office is located in Market Hall.

4 – Get to Know How to Get Around

Transit schedules have changed this year so make sure you get familiar with the bus schedule here. In partnership with the Brock University Students’ Union, St. Catharines Taxi will be providing students with flat rate taxi rides around the Niagara region.

5 – Gear Up with School Swag and Campus Store Deals

Want to show your Badger pride and dress the part? Visit the Brock Campus Store, which offers extended back-to-school hours this week and plenty of deals. The Campus Store is offering Campus Cash, for every $100 you spend on textbooks, you get $5 in Campus Cash to use at the store. The Campus Store has special back-to-school hours:

6 – Find Out About Parking

Bringing your car to campus? You have choices. Parking permits are available at the Parking Services office or you can pay when you park in various lots on campus. Click here to find out all you need to know about parking.

7 – Prep Your Devices

Students have access to Microsoft Office ProPlus 365 at no cost so make sure you get your computers and devices ready for school by clicking here.

8 – Go To Faculty Orientation

Familiarize yourself with your faculty and meet fellow Badgers at the faculty orientations on Sept. 6:

9 – Take Advantage of Free Tickets

There are a limited number of free student tickets for the Sept. 16 Homecoming Tailgate Party and Steel Blade hockey game up for grabs on Sept. 12 at the Walker Welcome Desk. Want to catch another game? There are free student tickets available for all Brock’s varsity games.

10 – Be Part of the Fun and Traditions

Throughout the year, there are plenty of events and activities taking place for Brock students to enjoy. From the annual Grape Stomp to this year’s O-Week activities and concerts, there’s something for everyone. Make sure to check experiencebu.brocku.ca on a regular basis for upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.
