As the world watches the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, the St. Catharines Standard took a look at women’s assistant wrestling coach Marty Calder while the Saskatoon StarPhoenix wrote about Brock Wrestling Club member Jillian Gallays’ road to Rio.

Steel Blade heads downtown

A launch party was held at Kully’s Sports Bar to announce the move of the Steel Blade Classic hockey game into the Meridian Centre in downtown St. Catharines. The Sept. 16 event will also include a Homecoming Tailgate Party open to everyone in Niagara. The St. Catharines Standard covered the announcement.

It’s hot out there

If it feels hotter than ever before in Niagara this summer, it’s because it is. The St. Catharines Standard wrote about the record-breaking heat and interviewed Brock Prof. Stephen Chueng, an expert in the field of of the impact of weather on physiology.
