Registration is open for White Privilege Symposium

Students, staff, faculty, school board members and the community are encouraged to attend the upcoming White Privilege Symposium at Brock University. The two-day event runs from Sept. 30 to Oct. 1.

Early bird pricing for students and community members is $75, and $160 for faculty, staff and school board members until Monday, Sept. 12. Following this date, all registration fees increase by $20. Tax is not included in pricing.

This is the first time the symposium is being hosted outside of the U.S. The conference is designed to educate and examine issues of privilege beyond skin colour. Scholars and activists from across the world will provide workshops that explore the impacts of, and solutions to, racial and cultural oppression.

This year’s theme is “Academics & Activists: Advocating for Equity, Justice and Action” and is organized by Brock’s Task Force on Racial Climate and the U.S. conference group.

Registration for the symposium closes Thursday, Sept. 22. For registration, travel and accommodation information, please visit wpsc.ca
