This week’s Conversations with Goodman podcast features Goodman graduate Naveen Khan (BBA ’15).
After graduating last year, Khan started working at Loblaw as senior analyst of promotions. She talks about using strategic and creative thinking in her job and how the Goodman School of Business has set her up well for her current role.
“I’m happy because Goodman provided me with the diverse background and that skill set to allow me to enhance and go above and beyond at my job,” says Khan. “This is where I was meant to be.”
Khan completed with a concentration in marketing but worked in the finance field during co-op so that she would graduate with a diverse background.
“I didn’t want to go into the world of marketing without knowing how numbers impact decisions,” she says. “Numbers guide our strategy and directions.”
Khan also discusses her involvement with the Brock Innovation Group (formerly known as the Brock U Entrepreneurship Club) where she played an instrumental role in organizing the Monster Pitch event, an event that has seen substantial growth in recent years.
“If it wasn’t for my student engagement and extracurricular experience, I wouldn’t have had the co-op opportunities and if it wasn’t for my co-op, I wouldn’t have had my career today – it’s a chain reaction,” she says.
This podcast is the latest in the Conversations with Goodman series which is produced by the Goodman Marketing, Communications and Alumni Relations team and features guests from the Goodman community.
