Office 365 ProPlus is here

Students, faculty and staff now have access to Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus.

Information Technology Services (ITS) recently purchased a new agreement with Microsoft that includes a fully installed Office experience across PCs, Macs, Windows tablets, iPad and Android tablets, and most mobile devices.

Each user can install Office on five home or office PCs or Macs, five tablets (Windows, iPad, and Android), and mobile phones. Office 365 ProPlus is a subscription service for the current version of Microsoft Office that includes all of the same applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, OneDrive, Publisher, Access, and Skype for Business.

Although the interface is very similar to recent versions of Office (2010, 2013), installing Office ProPlus (currently Office 2016) will introduce a potential learning curve for certain features. These features may include, but are not limited to Search in Document, Mail Merge, Macros, and Add-ons.

For installation instructions and FAQs, visit brocku.ca/getoffice. In addition to online help, training sessions will be scheduled in July and August and at the beginning of each term for the 2016-2017 calendar year. If you would like to talk with a Client Services Technical Analyst before upgrading, please contact the Help Desk to book an appointment.

There are two self-service options available for installing Office 365 ProPlus. One is for home and non-campus computers and the other is for campus computers – both require logging in with your campusid@brocku.ca account.

To begin self-service installation, visit brocku.ca/getoffice.

If you have any questions or concerns about upgrading to Microsoft Office 2016 on any or all of your devices, please don’t hesitate to contact the ITS Help Desk at extension 4357 to book and appointment with a Client Services Technical Analyst.
