Larviciding for mosquito control to begin next week

From June 20 to Sept. 16, 2016, Brock University will conduct a larviciding program under the authority of the Medical Officer of Health, Regional Municipality of Niagara, to control larval mosquitoes in order to prevent their development into vectors of West Nile virus.

The larvicide (Mosquiron 0.12CRD – ingot formulation, PCP No. 31079), under the federal Pest Control Products Act, will be applied by direct hand application into catch basins at Brock University owned and leased properties within the Region of Niagara.

All larvicides will be applied by Ministry of the Environment licensed applicators.

For details on the exact locations and dates of treatments, please contact Brock University at 905-688-5550, x3717 or by email facilities.management@brocku.ca
