Chorus Niagara ending season with a bang

On Saturday, May 7, Chorus Niagara presents a thrilling finale to their first season in the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre with BANG! Carl Orff’s thrilling CARMINA BURANA, one of the most popular, accessible and energetic 20th Century classical music works.

Experience the driving rhythm firsthand with special guests Canada’s premiere percussion ensemble TorQ Percussion Quartet, renowned for their vitality and engaging performances; accomplished pianists Karin Di Bella of the Department of Music and Lynne Honsberger; Niagara’s Choralis Camerata and the Chorus Niagara Children’s Choir.

Also performing at this event are music alumna Victoria Hoshowsky as soprano and current student Billy Sadler as tenor.

This year, Chorus Niagara started a new program called the Robert Cooper Choral Scholars for university students. There is a competitive audition, one for each voice type (soprano, alto, tenor, bass). The chosen students get $1,000 to be a part of the chorus and are given solos.
