Sign up for a quick lesson on the new Finance system

Soon there will be a lot less printing off expense forms or signing sheets of paper.

In two weeks, big change is coming for anyone at Brock who requests, approves or executes financial transactions, everything from purchase requisitions to travel advances and expense reimbursements.

Effective April 30, Brock will stop recording transactions in its long-serving but aged finance and accounting platform.

Starting May 4, Brock will record all financial transactions in the new cloud-based Finance system called Workday.

Workday is efficient and user-friendly, but as with anything new, users will need an orientation session.

Many University faculty and staff have already registered for the two-hour workshops that explain how to use the new system, and more sessions are scheduled for early May. All faculty and staff are encouraged to sign up for one of them.

Registering is easy. Go to https://brocku.ca/hr/training/focus/ and choose one of the Workday Core Navigation and Finance workshops. Purchase Requisition courses are also available.

“The two-hour course will save people a lot of time in the end,” says Ed Wall, Brock’s Director of Financial Strategy and Operations. “It is hands-on learning and easier than trying to experiment and figure it out on your own.”
