Grapes of Wrath training offered

Join the Brock Team to train for the Grapes of Wrath cancer fundraiser happening on June 25.

Grapes of Wrath isn’t your average charity run. This 5K obstacle and mud run demands endurance to trek through hills and valleys, splash through winding streams, courage to overcome more than 20 uncompromising obstacles, and a complete lack of shame to sludge through dirt and mud all in the name of a good cause.

The event is a rollercoaster ride of fun, excitement, camaraderie and physical and mental toughness that is anything but ordinary.

But don’t let that scare you, with proper training anyone can join this fun team event.

The event supports the Canadian Cancer Society’s local Wheels of Hope transportation program that helps cancer patients get to their cancer treatment appointments. Niagara’s volunteer drivers logged over on million kilometres last year, helping more than 900 local cancer patients.

Starting the week of May 2 and running for the following eight weeks, training will be offered on Tuesdays at noon, Thursdays at 5 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m.

The group will meet at the lower level of Walker Complex by the “L” shaped wooden bench. Drop in and see what it is all about, there is no obligation and you do not have to attend all training sessions to participate on the event date. Bring along a friend, partner, spouse, etc.

Contact Curtis Gadula at cgadula@brocku.ca or Eric Walter at ewalter@brocku.ca if you have questions.
