This edition of the Conversations with Goodman podcast features Holly Postlethwaite, Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator at Steam Whistle Brewing, a craft brewery located in the restored Roundhouse building in Toronto.
Host Susan LeBlanc talks to Postlethwaite about her role at Steam Whistle and how her team works to keep things fresh and innovative and what is involved behind the scenes in running a fully integrated marketing campaign, including promotions around such events as St. Patrick’s Day and Oktoberfest.
Postlethwaite talks about her passion for the beer industry and the great fit she has found at Steam Whistle, working with a cohesive and energetic team. Her passion extends to the marketing classroom, as she has visited Brock’s campus several times to speak to marketing classes taught by Prof. Antonia Mantonakis.
She finds marketing students at the Goodman School of Business engaging, and continues to return to speak to classes because she finds it rewarding to connect with students to let them know about the many opportunities in the field of marketing and communications and to open their eyes to a career, brand or opportunity they may have not considered before.
Her advice to students is to be persistent and genuine in the job search and to explore informational interviews.
This is the latest in the Conversations with Goodman series which is produced by the Goodman Marketing, Communications and Alumni Relations team and features guests from the Goodman community.
