This week’s Conversations with Goodman podcast, Najlaa Rauf sits in for host Susan LeBlanc.
Rauf speaks with Anthony Marotta (BBA ’15), who now works at Spara Capital Partners, which was founded by Goodman graduate Jason Sparaga, this year’s Distinguished Graduate award recipient.
Marotta, who was very involved in co-curricular activities as a student, emphasizes the importance of continuing to find ways to learn, and is currently studying for the Chartered Business Valuator and Charted Financial Analyst designation exams.
As a student, Marotta served as co-captain of the Goodman JDCC team and president of the Goodman Student Ambassador Association (SAA) and was instrumental in creating the SAA’s “A Day in the Life of a Goodman Student” event, now in its third year.
A member of Beta Gamma Sigma and the Goodman recipient of the Spirit of Brock award at last year’s convocation, Marotta maintained an impressive academic average while staying engaged in co-curricular activities.
Having competed at DECA, Queen’s University’s Inter-Collegiate Business Competition, JDCC and Royal Roads University International Undergraduate Case Competition, he understands the importance of going above and beyond to develop employable skills and credits his business competition success with landing his first job out of university.
His advice for students looking to balance academics and extracurricular involvement is to learn how to manage their time to keep priorities in line.
This is the latest in the Conversations with Goodman series which is produced by the Goodman Marketing, Communications and Alumni Relations team and features guests from the Goodman community.
