Good Morning Goodman continues this week with co-hosts Susan LeBlanc and Najlaa Rauf congratulating several students on competition results and announcing Brock’s Entrepreneurship Week.
Entrepreneurship Week is being led by Brock University Students’ Union in partnership with BioLinc, NcTakeOff and the Niagara College Student Administrative Council. As part of the week’s schedule, BioLinc’s Blueprint competition is taking place on Wednesday, March 23 in Guernsey Market. Register for this event online.
Innovation Matters and Monster Pitch are also happening this week, both on Tuesday, March 22. The public is invited to attend Innovation Matters from 11 a.m.-12 noon at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre. The event features a panel discussion with Jim Treliving, one of five judges on CBC’s Dragons’ Den and chairman and owner of Boston Pizza International Inc., Bruce Croxon, co-host of BNN’s The Disruptors and CEO of Round 13, Deborah Rosati, corporate director and co-founder of Women Get On Board, and Jason Sparaga, co-founder and co-CEO of Spark Power Corp. and founder of Spara Capital Partners. The four business experts will talk openly about all things innovation and entrepreneurship. Tickets for this event are $10 and all proceeds support Junior Achievement Canada.
Monster Pitch is a student pitch competition hosted by the Brock Innovation Group. The Innovation Matters panelists will stay to judge the competition which takes place from 1-4:30 p.m., also at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre. Students wishing to attend can purchase tickets for $10.
Tickets for both Innovation Matters and Monster Pitch are available through the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre website or box office.
Congratulations are in order for Amanda Giesen, Mohamad Hamade, Ashley Howard and Gerda Kruckauskaite who represented the Goodman School of Business in Victoria, B.C. this past weekend at the Royal Roads University International Undergraduate Case Competition.
Congratulations continue with LeBlanc and Rauf announcing Tom Andriopoulos as the winner of Brock Finance and Investment Group’s Stock Pitch Challenge, Jennifer Philpott and Kenneth Kooring as the winners of the Goodman Human Resource Management Association’s HR 101 competition, Mohamad Hamade, Gerda Kruckauskaite and Mikayla Zolis as winners of the Goodman Accounting Students’ Association’s Goodman Consulting Competition and Jennifer Philpott as the recipient of the Co-op Student of the Year award.
