PODCAST: Entrepreneurship, consulting and human resource management events on Good Morning Goodman

Good Morning Goodman continues with co-hosts Susan LeBlanc and Najlaa Rauf talking about several student events happening throughout February at the Goodman School of Business.

BioLinc, Brock University’s business incubator run by the Goodman School of Business, is hosting two events this month that are open to all Brock students. Entrepreneurs from Niagara aged 18-29 are invited to attend a seminar on personal branding on Wednesday, Feb. 10 and a seminar on legal issues on Tuesday, Feb. 23. Details and registration for both events are on the BioLinc website.

Goodman students are invited to attend “How to Get a Job in Business and Consulting” on Thursday, Feb. 11 and the Goodman Human Resource Management Association’s (HRMA) Lunch and Learn on Friday, Feb. 26. Students looking to be involved with a Goodman student club in the upcoming academic year are encouraged to apply for the many positions that are set to close Friday, Feb. 12. Details on all events and job postings are on CareerZone.

Goodman graduate students have until Friday, Feb. 12 to order 50 personalized business cards from the Goodman Graduate Business Council (GBC). For $5, students can receive their business cards and a business card holder, with the majority of the cost subsidized by the GBC.

This week, the Brock Marketing Association (BMA) at Goodman will be raising funds for Heart & Stroke. The Brock University community can visit their table in Mackenzie Chown A Block.

Goodman students are also invited to stop by the Career Chat table to talk to Mikayla Zolis, Junior Career Associate at the Goodman Career Development Office, about job search strategies and career advice. Zolis provides on-the-spot resume, cover letter and LinkedIn profile reviews and can provide tips and resources for interview preparation. Career Chats are held each week on Tuesday and Thursday from noon until 2 p.m. in the third floor hallway of Taro, and on Wednesday from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in the Service-Learning Resource Centre located in the Learning Commons.
