Motorists travelling on Highway 406 to Brock University’s Fall Preview Day on Sunday, Nov. 8 should allow an extra 15 minutes for their journey.
Bridge construction in downtown St. Catharines means a section of Highway 406 will be closed from 10 p.m. on Friday Nov. 6 until 6 a.m. on Monday Nov. 9. Southbound traffic travelling from the QEW toward the Brock campus will be diverted off Highway 406 at the Fourth Avenue exit.
A clearly-marked detour will route traffic 2 km along Fourth Avenue, Ontario Street and Westchester Crescent, where vehicles return to Highway 406 for the remaining 5 km to the Brock campus.
Parking restrictions and police officers at main intersections will help keep traffic flowing on the detour route.
