Brock University’s new Director of Research Services is a seasoned research administrator who has led progressive managerial initiatives in both the university and health research sectors across Canada.
Ryan McCarthy will join the University on July 6, commencing a role that is pivotal to helping the Brock research community strengthen its business processes, funding procurement and entrepreneurial partnership potential.
The announcement was made today by Gary Libben, Brock’s Vice-President, Research.
McCarthy is currently at York University, where he has served since 2012 as Director of Strategic and Institutional Research Initiatives. Prior to York, his experiences include Director of Knowledge Translation at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Manager of Knowledge Programs at the Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation, Project Coordinator at the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Assn., and Senior Projects Officer at the Canadian Public Health Assn.
Libben said McCarthy arrives at a critical juncture for Brock, as the University continues to advance as a leading research institution, to grow its research funding levels, and attract more researchers from across the country as well as internationally.
