Five days of graduation ceremonies kick off Tuesday morning at Brock University with the presentation of an honorary doctorate to a respected Niagara humanitarian.
Spring Convocation begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 9 with the ceremony for the Faculty of Social Sciences, where Start Me Up Niagara executive director Susan Venditti will receive an honorary degree. A second honorary degree will be presented on Friday morning to Roberta Bondar, the world’s first astronaut-neurologist and Canada’s first female astronaut.
In all, 3,784 undergrads and 440 grad students will receive degrees during Brock’s nine convocation ceremonies being held over the next five days until June 13 in the Ian D. Beddis Gymnasium.
During convocation, there will be six Excellence in Teaching awards, 10 Dean’s Medals, 12 Board of Trustees Spirit of Brock Medals and one Governor General Gold Medal awarded to Brock students and faculty.
