There was a little taste of O-Week at Brock University Tuesday morning.
The Brock University Student Union shot a promotional video featuring more than 100 students dressed in red, cheering and dancing in front of the Maj.-Gen. Sir Isaac Brock statue.
The project, filmed by Brock TV, will be used both to market the school externally, and to encourage more first-year students to get involved at the University.
“The four years at Brock can either be four years that pass you by or the best four years of your life,” said Jad Nasser, BUSU’s Isaac’s Army co-ordinator for the 2015-16 school year.
The fourth-year Business Economics student from Niagara Falls said he wishes he had been more involved in his first year at Brock.
“Coming to university I was a bit intimidated, but once I got involved in second year, Brock Students became a community and then a family,” he said.
Tuesday filming started out at the Campus Store, which outfitted many of the students with Brock-branded clothing and props. From there they marched out to the statue, where a DJ played music while dancers and student athletes performed.
The footage will be edited down to a three-minute promotional video, as well as a 30-second version for advertising use.
