The 630th meeting of the Brock University Senate (2014-15) was held on May 13, 2015. During the open session of the meeting, Senate:
• approved the Minutes of the 629th Meeting of Senate;
• received the Report of the President and Vice-Chancellor;
• received the Report of the Provost and Vice-President, Academic;
• received the Report of the Vice-President, Research;
• received the Report of the Academic Colleague;
• received the Report of the Actions of the Board of Trustees;
• received a Report from the Graduate Studies Committee, and
• approved amendments to FHB III B 6.3, Admission to Doctoral Program;
• approved amendments to FHB III B 6.5, Advanced Standing;
• approved amendments to FHB III B 9.4, Thesis Defences;
• received a Report from the Research and Scholarship Policy Committee, and
• approved that the term of the Jack and Nora Walker Canadian Centre for Lifespan Development Research be extended for an additional five years;
• approved that the decision regarding the term for the Tecumseh Centre for Aboriginal Research and Education be postponed for six months to allow time for the Vice-President, Research and the Dean/Interim Dean of the Faculty of Education to meet with the Director to develop a plan of support that outlines the resources needed to allow the Tecumseh Centre to meet its mandate, and then report back to the R&SPC;
• received a Report from the Undergraduate Program Committee, and
• approved the pilot Academic Recovery Policy for Undergraduate Students;
• approved revisions to the Goodman School of Business Periodic Review of Eligibility Sections and Addition of General Information, Program Notes and Program of Study for the International Dual Degree program;
• approved revisions to the Bachelor of Public Health, Community Health General Information, Program Notes, Articulation Programs and Explanations, Health Sciences General Information and Articulation Program Explanations;
• approved revisions to Labour Studies Program Notes and Addition of Information regarding combined Honours, with Major and Pass Labour Studies with other programs other than specified;
• approved revisions to Modern Languages, Literatures and Culture – Italian Studies Program Notes;
• approved various additions, changes and deletions to the Undergraduate Course Bank;
• received a Report from the Governance Committee;
• received a Report from the Information Technology and Infrastructure Committee;
• received a Report from the Teaching and Learning Policy Committee;
