CAEL comes to Brock (and we don’t mean the vegetable)

Brock University is now an official test site for the Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) exam making Brock the first and only CAEL test site in the Niagara region.

The CAEL assessment is a standardized test of a student’s ability to use English in an academic context. As a topic-based, integrated test, a CAEL assessment closely resembles the experience of being in a post-secondary classroom where the readings, lecture and writing components are all on the same topic. Official CAEL scores are recognized by Brock University, as well as most universities across Canada, as proof of meeting English language proficiency requirements.

The first CAEL exam at Brock University will be on Saturday, May 23. It will be administered by the International Language Testing Department.
More information about the examination and registration procedures can be found on the official CAEL website.

An internal version of the CAEL exam is also offered through ESL Services. For information about test dates and costs, please contact eslbrock@brocku.ca.
