Presentations

Brock’s James A. Gibson Library was well-represented at the Ontario Library Association Super Conference 2015, held in January at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Help Desk Co-ordinator Evelyn Smith and Liaison Librarians Jennifer Thiessen and Elizabeth Yates presented a conference session entitled “Connecting with first-year students: online and in-person.”

Liaison Librarians Justine Cotton and Elizabeth Yates presented a conference session entitled “The Perfect Space: Classroom Environments and Learning Outcomes.”

Ian Gibson, Collections Librarian, Carol Stephenson Librarian, Wilfrid Laurier University, and Elizabeth Yates, Liaison/Scholarly Communication Librarian, presented a conference session entitled “It’s A Bit Like The Wild West Out There”: Faculty Attitudes Towards Open Access Publishing.” Barbara McDonald, Interim University Librarian, is principal investigator on this research project.

Tim Ribaric, Acting Head of Librarian Systems, presented a conference session entitled “Working with data using Open Refine and Other Tools.”
