The Brock Business Students’ Association (BSA) was recognized last month by the Canadian Association of Business Students (CABS) as one of Canada’s best run business students’ associations.
At the annual Business Students’ Association (BSA) Recognition Night, 150 members of Goodman’s nine student clubs celebrated their trademark Goodman Spirit and were recognized for their outstanding contributions to student life. Brock President Jack Lightstone, Goodman Dean Don Cyr, Honourary BSA President Martin Philp (BBA ’80), faculty, staff and community leaders attended the event.
Cyr commended the students for their exceptional work as brand ambassadors for business school.
“You are our greatest ambassadors and we thank you for representing us so well,” he said. “I want to thank the students who work so tirelessly. You have made us extremely proud.”
Lightstone attended the event to honour Goodman BBA student Mellissa Trapani. On March 19, Trapani used the lifesaving skills she obtained as a lifeguard to save a fellow student from choking.
Also recognized at the event were the winners of the undergraduate and graduate professors of the year. Winners were determined by a student vote. Darlene Bay, department of Accounting, received the Graduate Professor of the Year Award while Geoffrey Hoover, department of Finance, Operations and Information Systems, was named undergraduate professor of the year.
