While Nike supports many schools in varying degrees, Brock is joining an elite family of Canadian universities that have a full partnership with the company for all of their competitive sports teams.

In the four-year deal signed this week between Brock’s Campus Store and T. Litzen Sports, the exclusive service provider for the Nike Team program, all Brock Badgers men’s and women’s sports teams will wear Nike uniforms.

“Nike’s brand recognition and quality is unparalleled and I have been so impressed with T. Litzen’s commitment to partnering with us. This is going to be very exciting,” said Brock Interim Director of Athletics and Recreation Robert Cargnelli.

While the Nike branding and athletic wear innovation will help differentiate Brock’s athletes from their competition, the rest of the University will also benefit from the partnership. The school’s Athletics & Recreation department will work closely with the Campus Store, which will also carry a full line of Nike-branded Badgers products for students, faculty, staff, and the public to purchase.

“This is part of our integrated retail strategy that was envisioned a few years back. I am happy to see such exciting results from our departments working more closely together,” said Tom Arkell, Associate Vice President, University Services.

Adds Dan Lewis, Director Campus Store, “We are proud to be able to facilitate a partnership of two outstanding brands.”

In addition, the Campus Store will be working to strengthen the Brock Badgers brand identity both within the Brock community and throughout the region.

“This partnership with Nike will be beneficial for students, athletes and fans of the Badgers. We want to see Badger pride spread across Niagara, the community we’re proud to be part of,” said Brian Hutchings, Vice-President, Finance and Administration.

Ryan Denholm, National Sales Manager for T. Litzen sports, said Nike Team is “thrilled” to be the new brand supplier for the Badgers.

“Brock boasts a rich history of success and brings a high standard that is admired throughout the Niagara Region and beyond,” he said. “By adorning Badger athletes in ‘The Swoosh,’ we look to further enhance their capabilities utilizing the authenticity of the world’s leading sports brand.”

The Badger/Nike partnership is facilitated through T. Litzen Sports Key Accounts Coordinator, Samantha Ryder.
