The replacement of two bridges over the next 17 months may affect traffic flow for Brock University staff and students.
Between March 30, 2015 and Aug. 2016, Niagara Region is replacing both the Beaverdams Rd. bridge and the Power Canal bridge that carry vehicles and pedestrians over Lake Gibson.
The work will be done in two phases, starting with Beaverdams Rd., which will be closed from March 30 until August. During this time, traffic will be detoured using Merrittville Hwy, St. David’s Rd. and Collier Rd.
The second phase of the work will involve the Power Canal bridge on Merrittville Hwy. near Decew Rd. being replaced. Merrittville will be closed from Aug. 2015 until Aug. 2016 for this work, and a detour will take vehicles and pedestrian traffic onto Beaverdams Rd., Collier Rd. and St. David’s Rd.
