The sixth annual Play for Memories Ball Hockey Tournament to raise money for the Alzheimer Society of Niagara Region will be held Saturday, March 28.
The annual initiative is co-ordinated by the Brock Leaders Citizenship Society and has raised more than $27,000 since its inception. The money raised goes to the local chapter of the Alzheimer Society, which focuses on supporting individuals with Alzheimer’s, as well as their friends and family, while promoting ways of keeping a healthy and active brain.
“We are looking forward to what is sure to be an excellent event with fun, prizes, games and good competition,” says Meagan Gloor, a member of the BLCS ball hockey planning team.
The tournament will be run in a three versus three format and will be held at the Niagara Ball Hockey Club facility in St. Catharines.
Many local businesses and individuals have supported the tournament through financial donations or prizes. If anyone else is interested in donating, or for more information, contact playformemories@gmail.com.
