Schmon Tower antenna upgrade means road closures

Upgrades being done to antennas on the roof of the Schmon Tower will mean partial road closures on campus this weekend.

A large crane will be lifting equipment to the top of the Tower this Sunday Feb. 22.

The crane will be set up beside the loading dock at the back (north side) of the Tower.

As a result:

• Residence Road from Decew Residence to the Tower loading dock will be closed to traffic from about 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• Pedestrian doorways on the ground floor of the Tower’s north side will also be closed during the operation.
• Parking lots G and H will be closed

Barricades will be erected to keep people a safe distance from the activity, and affected doors will be posted with warning signs stating “Closed, except for emergency use only.”
