The Brock University community has risen to the challenge again.  Through an enormous amount of caring and generosity the Campus Store has exceeded this year’s Community Care Angel Tree goal of collecting 625 toys for children in Niagara.

With toys still trickling in, the number of gifts has grown to more than 750. Tacey Atkinson, Campus Store employee and Angel Tree champion is “over the moon with excitement thinking about all the children that will wake up Christmas morning and have toys to open.”

The Community Care Angel Tree is an annual campaign that the Brock University Campus Store champions during the holiday season.

With the need for toys and food at elevated levels of demand in our local community the Angel Tree provides an opportunity for employees at Brock University to give back.

“A heartfelt thank you to all who participated and helped get the word out across campus this year,” added Atkinson.  “I knew together we could do it.”

For those who still have an unwrapped toy to drop off the final trip to Community Care will be Tuesday, Dec. 16.

Congratulations to Tacey and to the Brock Community! It looked a bit grim there for a while, but Tacey and the Campus Store once again this year managed to work some Christmas magic and make real magic happen for lots of deserving children!

The Campus Store deserves much credit for sponsoring this event for Community Care, and Tacey Atkinson deserves our appreciation and more for making Christmas a happy memory for a child in our community.
