With a new website, the ability to make online purchases, and a rental program, Brock University students have more options to buy and sell back textbooks.
“We’re looking to be convenient, competitive and customer friendly,” Brock Campus Store marketing and communications co-ordinator Kate Dudley said, noting the store has more initiatives planned aimed at improving customer service.
In addition to taking advantage of the changes, students can search ‘sell Brock book’ to download a free app that allows them to scan or search a book’s ISBN number, which will immediately tell them how much the store will pay for the book. The book’s value is based on demand by the Campus Store and wholesalers. Students can receive up to 50% of the purchase price back during the buyback periods.
Students can also purchase books online through the Campus Store’s new customer-friendly website, which launched Aug. 18. By pre-ordering textbooks to be picked up in store, students will receive a free Brock bag and will avoid lineups and eliminate shipping fees.
The Campus Store has introduced a textbook rental program on select titles that can save students up to 60% off the new price. Rentals are only done in store, so students have to visit the store for further information.
Of course, there is still the option of buying used textbooks at the Campus Store. Used books are generally 75% less than the new price and there are no taxes.
