Kendra Coulter, a professor in the Centre for Labour Studies at Brock University, spoke to 4,000 delegates in Montreal May 7 during the Canadian Labour Congress convention.

Jennifer Thiessen and Elizabeth Yates from the James A. Gibson Library presented “Connecting with first-year students: online and in-person” at the First National Personal Librarian & First Year Experience Library Conference, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio on April 8, 2014. Evelyn Smith from the Library also collaborated on the presentation.

Associate Prof. Michael J. Armstrong, Goodman School of Business, gave three presentations in Vermont in May: “Modeling combat past and future” at Norwich University April 22; “Candy covered process performance” for Vermont’s American Society for Quality branch April 23; and “Revisiting the Battle of the Coral Sea” at Middlebury College April 24.

Veena Dwivedi presented a poster entitled “Quantification, attention and the P300 effect” (with co-authors Raechelle Gibson; now pursuing PhD in Neuroscience at Western, and current lab member and Neuroscience grad, Kaitlin Curtiss) at the 21st Meeting of the Cognitive Neuroscience Society in Boston. Dwivedi also delivered an invited lecture at the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA. Her talk was entitled, ‘Ecological Rationality of Heuristics in Sentence Processing’.
