On Sunday, the University at Buffalo (UB) on behalf of the State University of New York recognized Brock President Jack Lightstone with an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters for his academic leadership and commitment to innovation in higher education.
In his introductory remarks, UB President Satish K. Tripathi, noted that, during his tenure, Lightstone “has guided the transformational growth of his institution.”
“Dr. Lightstone’s leadership is significantly increasing the growth of his University and its impact on the regional economy, while broadening its influence across international borders,” said Tripathi.
“As president of Brock University, Dr. Lightstone played a pivotal role in strengthening bilateral co-operation between Brock and the University at Buffalo.”
One of the most significant outcomes of the close ties between Brock and UB is the successful launch of a joint Master of Arts degree program in Canadian-American Studies offered collaboratively by both universities.
The partnership agreement between the two institutions was first signed in 2007 and renewed in 2013.
