Service-Learning Resource Centre offers financial support

The Service-Learning Resource Centre has a variety of funding opportunities available to support service-learning ideas and course development needs.

Below is a brief summary of the available funds, with more details about each available on the Service-Learning website:

· Project seed money – up to $300 to support those looking to develop or expand service-learning related activities

· Community partner incentive – up to $1000 to develop or enhance relationships with community partners for service-learning related activities

· Service-Learning course incentive grants – up to $1500 for Service-Learning courses

Applications are now open for Service-Learning course incentive grants with a deadline of Friday, April 25 for adjudication in early May.

A question and answer session will be hosted Thursday, April 10 from 12 noon-1 p.m. in TH253 for anyone wishing to learn more about the grant, ask questions and discuss grant ideas.

All Project Seed Money and Community Partner Incentive applications are adjudicated on an on-going basis as they are received.

The Service-Learning Resource Centre also provides support for those who wish to attend a service-learning related conference or professional development opportunity.

The following is a list of featured conferences (you may also request to attend a conference not listed here if you have one in mind), and to submit an application for a PD grant, which typically covers the cost of registration.

These are adjudicated on an ongoing basis and all other associated costs are the responsibility of the applicant.

Drop by the Service-Learning Resource Centre during business hours or contact Sandy Howe or ext. 4126 if you are interested in pursuing any of these opportunities.
