A group of professors at Brock University will host a public panel discussion next Wednesday on the political crisis in Ukraine.
The professors will share their perspectives and historical contexts on the ongoing situation in the Eastern European country – from the deployment of Russian troops in Ukraine to the Crimean autonomy referendum scheduled for March 16.
The talk takes place Wednesday, March 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Thistle 248 at the University.
This community discussion is open to the public.
Panelists include:
- Viktor Avdeev, a visiting professor from the Faculty of World Politics at Moscow State University who is teaching Russian history at Brock this term
- Charles Burton, associate professor of political science, who specializes in comparative politics and China
- Juris Dreifelds, an associate professor of political science of Latvian origin who specializes in Russian and Ukrainian politics
- Bohdan Y. Nebesio, an associate professor of communication, popular culture and film, of Ukrainian decent, who published a Historical Dictionary of Ukraine in 2013
