Brock University professor Liette Vasseur will speak about climate change next week as part of a three-part lecture series by Canada’s oldest scientific society.
Vasseur, who teaches in the Department of Biological Sciences and is affiliated with Brock’s transdisciplinary Environmental Sustainability Research Centre and its recently launched Master in Sustainability Science and Society program, will discuss how communities and wildlife may adapt to climate change, as well as future environmental impacts – droughts, heavy rainfalls and coastal erosion – across Canada.
The Royal Canadian Institute for the Advancement of Science lectures series is in its 165th year and begins Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m. with Vasseur at the Noel Ryan Auditorium in Mississauga.
Admission is free.
“I was quite honoured to be invited to this series of seminars,” Vasseur said. “It is a great way to connect with a larger community of the GTA.”
Other speakers include Ray Jayawardhana (March 6) and Virginijus Barzda (April 3). Both are from the University of Toronto.
