A record number of Brock community members laced up their running shoes to take part in the Rankin Cancer Run last Saturday.
In total, 106 people pounded the pavement for the Brock team, joining more than 11,575 Niagarans in the charity run in St. Catharines. The team was put together by Student Life and Community Experience.
The group also raised $2,438.50 to support local cancer treatment and support organizations. Saturday’s edition of the Rankin Cancer Run — the eighth annual — raised about $675,000 for the cause.
Curtis Gadula, manager of off-campus living, placed third overall in the five-kilometre race.
