Calling all good Samaritans and those who know them: nominations are open for the President’s Distinguished Service Awards for staff.
The annual awards recognize permanent staff who go above and beyond to consistently provide outstanding contributions to the working environment at Brock.
The awards are given to up to four people – two support/technical/maintenance employees and two administrative/professional employees. Winners receive a certificate of recognition $500.
The awards are open to staff who have been active employees with at least 10 years of service at Brock. Permanent employees with benefits entitlement are eligible, except staff reporting directly to the President or a vice-president.
Nominees are those who have demonstrated exemplary service or made a significant contribution to their department, did something exceptional to advance Brock’s reputation, made a significant contribution to the University and/or the community, or provided a valuable service to the University community outside their own departments.
Nominations are also open for the Human Resources Distinguished Services Award for Leadership, recognizing permanent staff who have a record of leading and working collaboratively, engaging faculty and staff, creating a respectful work and learning environment and creating an environment enabling the University to achieve the objectives of its strategic plan.
Winners also receive a certificate and $500.
Application and endorsement forms are available from the Office of Human Resources and Environment, Health and Safety or online.
They can be made by any member of the Brock community. All nominations must include three endorsements. Those making a nomination or endorsing a nominee should only do so for one person per year.
Completed nomination and endorsement forms can be returned to human resources by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, in a sealed envelope marked ‘Confidential – Distinguished Service Award Nominations.’
