It’s a blight on the beautiful game – and any other sport.
Match-fixing will be the topic of conversation when investigative journalist and bestselling author Declan Hill visits Brock next week to present The Road to Ruin: Why match-fixing is going to destroy sport and how Canadians can help.
Hill will speak on Thursday, Nov. 22 from 4 to 5 p.m. in Academic South, room 204. His talk is presented by the Department of Sport Management.
Hill, who has worked for CBC Radio and Television, and whose work has appeared in the Guardian, specializes in the study of organized crime and international issues.
His book, The Fix: Soccer and Organized Crime, examined the corruption in international football and is an award-winning bestseller published in 17 languages.
