Ten Thousand Villages sale on now

Fair trade holiday shopping returns to Brock with the Ten Thousand Villages’ annual fair trade sale.

The sale runs today until Nov. 2 and features handcrafted jewelry, personal accessories, natural home décor, food and skin care products, celebrating cultural traditions and environmental responsibility.

Proceeds from the sale benefit Brock Abroad: Namibia, a volunteer and travel program for students.

The sale starts Monday at noon and runs until 7 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the lobby of the Sean O’Sullivan Theatre.

Ten Thousand Villages is the largest and oldest fair trade organization in North America and provides vital, fair income to those in the developing world by marketing their handicrafts and telling their stories. Ten Thousand Villages works with artisans who would otherwise be unemployed or underemployed. This income helps pay for food, education, health care and housing.
