Congratulations Charlene Roarco (BA ’10).
Roarco is the winner of a new iPad, the prize in the Brock Alumni Relations’ second Update Your Contact Information contest, held from May 1 to July 3, 2012.
More than 1,000 alumni updated their contact information for a chance to win the new iPad, an overwhelming increase over last year’s contest. Alumni were contacted via email and asked to submit their current contact information for a chance to win.
“It’s pretty cool to win the new iPad. It’s nice that Alumni Relations does this for people who haven’t been to Brock in a while,” Roarco said when she received her prize. “I just signed up to get alumni updates and I’m looking forward to enjoying the benefits.”
Alumni are encouraged to stay in touch by updating their contact information to receive exclusive alumni correspondence. They receive Brock’s alumni publications, Surgite magazine and Brock Alumni Connect e-newsletter, invitations to exclusive networking events, and career and volunteer-related information.
By updating employment information, alumni help current and future Brock students explore their career choices and add value to their degrees by enabling Brock to receive crucial accreditations, such as AACSB and MBA rankings.
“There are a variety of events, volunteer opportunities and publications that alumni will have an interest in. So, it’s crucial that we have a way to let them know about all these opportunities,” explained Christine Jones, director of Alumni Relations.
Didn’t win? Don’t fret. Our next contest runs Oct. 1 to Nov. 31, 2012. For a chance to read alumni correspondence on a new iPad like Charlene’s, look for details in the October issue of Brock Alumni Connect. You can also update your current contact information here.
