One of Niagara’s hottest gala events will do double duty this autumn.
This year, the popular General Brock’s October Soirée moves to a Thursday evening – Oct. 11 – so it can kick off a weekend of Niagara-wide events commemorating the 200th anniversary of the death of war hero Sir Isaac Brock.
Soirée will again be held in Brock University’s Market Hall, an evening of fine dining where guests are serenaded and regaled by period-costumed performers from the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts.
Now in its fifth year, the Soirée is the University’s most significant fundraising event. Proceeds go solely to fund student initiatives and scholarships at Brock, and in its first four years the gala generated more than $250,000 for student financial supports.
