Hedy McGarrell (Applied Linguistics) and Debbie Lee (ESL Services) presented the paper “Corpus-based or corpus-informed grammar texts for English Language Learners compared to traditional grammars: An example
of how research informs pedagogy” at the Canadian Association of Applied Linguistics (ACLA/CAAL) Conference, University of Waterloo, Waterloo, May 28-31.

Hedy McGarrell presented the paper “Innovation in Techniques for Teacher Commentary on EFL Writers’ Drafts” (with R. Alvira) at the Innovative Practices in Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) conference in Ottawa. The conference, organized by The Canadian Centre for Studies and Research on Bilingualism and Language Planning at the University of Ottawa, took place from April 26-28.
