Soirée raised thousands for student scholarships

The recent General Brock’s October Soirée gala event at Brock netted more than $55,000, and will result in double that amount going toward financial support for students.

When leveraged with the Ontario government’s match program, the event will have generated $110,000 to support student scholarships, including for students of the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts.

The University would like to emphasize its gratitude to the sponsors whose support helped make the event such a success:

  • Lincoln Fabrics (lead sponsor)
  • Ned Goodman Investment Counsel Ltd.
  • Architects Alliance
  • EllisDon
  • MBNA
  • Rankin Construction Inc.
  • St. Catharines-Thorold Chamber of Commerce
  • TD Insurance Meloche Monnex
  • Walker Industries Holdings Limited
  • Whiting Equipment Canada Inc.

General Brock’s October Soirée is a fundraising gala held each autumn to commemorate the University’s namesake, Maj.-Gen. Sir Isaac Brock, who commanded British troops in the War of 1812. The event is a modern celebration interwoven with themes from this historic period in Canadian history.

Now in its fourth year, the Soirée has raised more than $250,000 to date to support student initiatives and strategic priorities at Brock.
