We’re always told to “follow your passion and you’ll never work a day in your life.”
Allie Hughes (BA ’09) seems to have taken that advice to heart. As the founder of wine blog, winegloss.ca and regular contributor to sites like Wine Align and Naturally in Niagara, Allie has managed to marry her love of everything wine with her savvy writing and web skills.
‘Wine Tasting Facilitator’ also happens to be on the list of hats that Allie wears. And on Tuesday Nov. 22, Allie will guide the Kitchener-Waterloo Brock Alumni Network through a wine-tasting event that will provide tasters with an idea of why Niagara wines taste the way they do, as well as the nuance of taste.
The event will be held at the Walper Hotel in downtown Kitchener. This historic downtown hotel has been at the corner of King and Queen streets since 1893, serving guests from Wilfrid Laurier and Pierre Trudeau to Sarah McLachlan and David Copperfield. With extensive modern renovations that add to the hotel’s character, our K-W Brock Alumni Network is excited to host the alumni event at this location. There are almost 3,000 Brock graduates living in the Waterloo region.
