The fume hoods in Mackenzie Chown H and F block will be shut down on Saturday.

The hoods will not be operational between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The shutdown is for annual fall repairs on the exhaust systems.

Facilities Management advises that:

• All hood enclosures should be empty. If this is not practical, all bottles and containers in the hood must be closed tight.
• All containers in vented cabinets under hoods should be closed. This should be normal practice.
• Hoods that are not vented to the outside can be used (one filtered fume hood in Earth Sciences, all laminar flow hoods and all bio-containment hoods).
