Three questions with… Linda Holder

Linda Holder

Linda Holder works as a switchboard operator in the lower level of the Schmon Tower, a job she has held for 20 years. She and her co-workers handle hundreds of calls each day. She lives in St. Catharines, where she was born and raised. She is married to Philip and has two sons.

What do you like about your job?

I love my job. I always have. I like the contact with people on the phone. I think we have the friendliest switchboard in the country. Every year, we call every university across Canada to verify information, and I can tell you that we are the friendliest.

What do you do for fun?

I like to cook. I love lacrosse and have season’s tickets to the Buffalo Bandits. I go to lacrosse games in St. Catharines in the summer. I also love spending time with my family.

Where did you go on your last vacation?

I took my great nephew to Cleveland and saw three New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians games. Then we went to Cedar Point. It was so much fun.
