Alumni winemakers headline Niagara Young Alumni event

Niagara Young Alumni Wine Tasting and Social

Over the past few decades, Niagara has become increasingly known for producing world-class wines. With Bordeaux-style Cabernet Francs, aromatic Rieslings, innovations in organic and biodynamic growing, and close to 100 wineries from Grimsby to Queenston, the Niagara region is a destination for wine newcomers and oenophiles alike.

In fact, Brock University has played an important part in Niagara’s wine growth, including graduating dozens of winemakers through our unique Cool Climate Oenology & Viticulture (CCOVI) program. Many alumni winemakers have chosen to keep their knowledge within Niagara and now produce award-winning, local wines.

What better way to celebrate what’s in Brock’s backyard than to host an alumni event showcasing Brock alumni wine? If you’ve graduated within the last 10 years and live in the Niagara region, come out to the inaugural event for Brock’s young professional grads in Niagara. With thousands of young alumni living in the region, this is a great opportunity to connect, socialize and meet new people.

On Tuesday, Aug. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lake House Restaurant in Vineland, we invite Niagara young alumni to learn basic wine information from the best in Niagara.

Event details:
When: Tuesday, Aug. 16, 6 to 8 p.m.
Where: Lake House Restaurant, Vineland
Cost: $10 per person (includes wine samples and hors d’oeuvres)
