Pond Inlet was filled with the music and aroma of various countries at the annual Celebration of Nations event.
About 25 countries were represented at the March 10 event. Many tables featured food samples and informative displays about the represented countries, which included Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Mexico and the United States.
An estimated 300 people come through the multicultural event, said Maria Millan, president of the Brock International Students Association.
“It’s a chance to show how proud we are of our countries,” said Millan at her display for her native Colombia. “It’s a good opportunity to learn about how many different cultures are represented at Brock.”
Brock has students from more than 80 countries, she said.

Denyse Renk, an international student from Australia, said she enjoyed going from table to table trying the food. When she arrived for her semester at Brock, she was pleased to see the energetic community here.
“There is so much spirit at Brock,” she said.
International Services and Programs Abroad presented the event in collaboration with Brock International, International Recruitment, Associate Vice-President Student Services, ESL Services, and the Brock University Students’ Association.
