Brock is celebrating International Education Week with a slew of events around campus.
Brock International is hosting a number of events from Nov. 15 to 19. Highlights include the international photo exhibits “This is My Home” and “Home Away From Home” showing all week in the Sean O’ Sullivan Theatre gallery, as well as displays, cooking demonstrations, snack sales and workshops.
International Education Week is celebrated each year in the third week of November at higher education institutions around the world, said Sheila Young, director and international liaison officer for Brock International.
The week is a great opportunity to raise awareness about internationalization at the university, she said. It also helps the Brock community learn about the more than 1,500 students who take part in English as a Second Language (ESL), undergraduate and graduate programs, she said. International students at Brock University come from more than 85 countries.
“There is a wide range of activities planned for this year and I hope Brock community members will get involved in at least one activity that interests them,” she said.
