TAP needs online votes

Brock’s Turn Around Project (TAP) is looking for online votes to win $100,000 for its program.

TAP is competing for a Pepsi Refresh Challenge Grant, which would provide money to take arts programming to countries around the world. Grant recipients are selected by popular vote, and the first cycle of voting ends on Oct. 31.

TAP began in 2006 when educator and Dub poet Michael St. George was hired by former Brock professor Jane Leavitt to teach a class called “Alternate Forms of Theatre”. That turned into a pilot project held in Jamaica in July 2007, when 18 students delivered an integrated arts program for more than 100 Jamaican participants. Since the pilot, TAP has done six projects in three countries, working with more than 500 participants around the globe.
