Scott Henderson, associate professor of Communication, Popular Culture and Film, published the opinion piece “The cautionary tale of Justin Bieber” in The Mark on Aug. 9. In the article, Henderson compares YouTube to the film industry and Bieber’s rise to stars of the past. “Remove the excitement of witnessing shiny new technologies and the change in media, and we are on very familiar cultural ground,” he writes.
