This has been an outstanding year for Prof. Don Cyr, and judging by the awards he has received, it has been an outstanding year for his students as well.
The last issue of Business@Brock included a story about the Graduate Teaching Award that Cyr received as voted on by graduate business students, and the Excellence in Teaching Award he received from the Faculty of Business. This past month, Cyr added the Chancellor’s Chair for Teaching Excellence to his accomplishments. This prestigious award recognizes the excellent scholarship of teaching of Brock’s faculty members. Only three faculty members are chosen each year from across the university to sit as Chancellor’s Chairs for Teaching Excellence.
Chair-holders are individuals who have made exceptional contributions to post-secondary teaching, learning, and/or educational technology and/or have established an exemplary record of achievement in this important aspect of university endeavour.
The Brock Chancellor’s Chair for Teaching Excellence provides successful nominees with the opportunity to undertake a specific, three-year program of research and practice leading to a significant development in teaching, learning, and/or educational technology. The programs of activity for the chairs may be integrated within their broader research and scholarly focus.
