A major campus intersection — Meter Road at University Road — is closed to traffic until July 28 as work continues on the Niagara Health and Biosciences Research Complex.
At times the work will result in noise and vibration as crews cut through bedrock to install a water main.
The work will mean changes to vehicle and pedestrian routes as well as the entrance to reserved parking.
For pedestrians, signs will indicate footpath detours around the site, and a temporary crosswalk has been installed on Meter Road from Parking Lot A to the sidewalk on the west side.
For motorists, signs will indicate that both Meter Road and University Road are temporarily closed. As well, the pay parking on Meter Road will be reduced and accessible spaces will be designated at the west end of Parking Lot A.
Access to Parking Lot A will be from Meter Road; Isaac Brock Blvd. North; and from the Glenridge traffic circle, which is reopened now that work there is complete.
The entrance into the Reserve Parking Lot A will also be restricted through July 28. It is recommended that drivers access it by using the Glenridge traffic circle and turning south into Parking Lot A, entering Reserved Lot A from the east side. The entrance/exit will be signed.
